Coming Soon: UNACCEPTABLE
In honor of Lyme disease awareness month, UNACCEPTABLE: Another Day Lost to Lyme Disease, by Amelia Johnson, will be available this May!
A MEDICAL MEMOIR THAT READS LIKE A MYSTERY
Perfectly healthy until she wasn’t, Amelia Johnson questions everything when she suddenly finds herself inexplicably and devastatingly ill. From her electrocutions to explosions and dislocations, none of the doctors know how to help. After months of seeking answers, Amelia is left on her own to solve the enigma—bedridden, bearing insufferable pain, misdiagnosed, and misunderstood. She continues to lose herself a bit more everyday.
Unsure where to turn and overwhelmed by unfathomable theories, yet desperate to find herself and maybe even save her own life, Amelia becomes trapped in a world she never knew existed. A world where a disease and its dangerous treatments are mired in controversy. What can she trust? How could she have possibly incurred such an awful malady? And what does she do about it now? Time is running out. In order to have a future, Amelia must dig deep into her past.
Spanning two countries and thirty-one years, UNACCEPTABLE is gritty and raw, demonstrating the sheer fortitude required to endure a life-altering illness and, maybe even someday, rise above.
