Celebrating Libraries Remembrance Day
Libraries have been a part of our social structure for a long time. The first library dates back to 2500 BCE. Since then, every important civilization has had libraries.
A library is a crucial place of learning, knowledge, communication, and community. It stands for freedom, provides equal access to information, celebrates diverstiy, preserves culture and history, and manifests hope for the future.
On the tenth anniversary of the 9/11 attacks, the USA decided it would celebrate its public libraries annually on September 11 as commemoration and as a symbol of freedom and fearlessness.
We hope you take the time to visit you local library today!
