The Inspiration Behind Nana and Grandma
Celebrate the special bond between generations on National Grandparents' Day with Off to Nana and Grandma's Home.
This book, written by Gayathri R. Waring, explores the rich and heartwarming relationship between a child and his two lesbian grandparents. Each expresses her bond in different ways, and both love the child so very much. The book features dynamic and colorful illustrations by Hallie Guidry, celebrates diversity and inclusivity, and is based on a true story.
The book is dedicated to Gayathri's mother, Rajalakshmi, whom she lost at the young age of 21. Rajalakshmi cherished books and ignited Gayathri's thirst for stories, a love now passed on to the author's son. The book is also dedicated to Gayathri's mothers-in-law, Beverly and Donna, two inspiring women who deserve to be represented in every way possible.
Off to Nana and Grandma’s Home came to life from my son’s touching relationship with his grandmothers who express their bond in very different ways but who both love their grandson "all the muches."
