A Glimpse into my Life: A Collection of Micro-Memoirs
A childhood surrounded by war and violence.
She is forced to leave everything behind and rebuild her entire world.
Sylvie Feghali Smith, a Lebanese immigrant single mother, takes on the challenges of life.
This collection of micro-memoirs, originally presented as speeches, is a powerful emotional journey that reveals optimism in the face of adversity. Sylvie reflects on flashing moments in her past and praises family members for their unconditional support in eight engaging short stories.
Sylvie Feghali Smith immigrated to the USA with her family in the eighties. While acclimating to the culture of her new country, she graduated magna cum laude from the University of South Carolina with a B.S. and M.E. in Electrical and Computer Engineering. Sylvie lives in South Carolina as a proud wife, mother, daughter, sister, aunt, cousin, friend, software engineer, patented inventor, hiker, traveler, yogi, and tennis player.
She recently published A Glimpse into my Life: A Collection of Micro-Memoirs illustrating the life of a single mother immigrant woman.
"Relatives and friends encouraged me to publish, but the real reason was because I wanted to share with my children and their descendants, the lessons and legacy of our family."
