A Glimpse into my Life: A Collection of Micro-Memoirs
A powerful journey that depicts the life of a Lebanese immigrant single mother. Displaced by a sectarian civil war into a land she has only seen on television, a young woman relies on her courage and determination to navigate the uncertain challenges of assimilation and single parenthood.
This collection of micro-memoirs, originally presented as speeches, reveals optimism in the face of adversity and the true power of family love and loyalty. In eight engaging short stories, Sylvie reflects on flashing moments in her past.
Sylvie Feghali Smith immigrated to the USA with her family in the eighties. While acclimating to the culture of her new country, she graduated magna cum laude from the University of South Carolina with a B.S. and M.E. in Electrical and Computer Engineering. Sylvie lives in South Carolina as a proud wife, mother, daughter, sister, aunt, cousin, friend, software engineer, patented inventor, hiker, traveler, yogi, and tennis player.
She recently published A Glimpse into my Life: A Collection of Micro-Memoirs illustrating the life of a single mother immigrant woman.
"Relatives and friends encouraged me to publish, but the real reason was because I wanted to share with my children and their descendants, the lessons and legacy of our family."
