Hugo the Hermit Crab enjoys a calm and simple life by the sea on Seven Mile Beach in the Cayman Islands. One day, a parrot swoops down and takes him far away to a completely unknown area.

About the Author: Danielle Lynch Nicholson is an award-winning former newspaper reporter and editor who resides in Pennsylvania with her family. Her children’s book Bump Under the Rug (2021) received the prestigious Mom’s Choice Award. Hugo the Hermit Crab’s Journey Back to Sea (2022) is inspired by Danielle’s adventures with her two sisters while visiting their Aunt and Uncle in the Cayman Islands.

About the Illustrator: Lauren Zurcher is an award-winning children’s book illustrator from Colorado. She began her journey as an artist when drawing about family vacations across the world. The geography, peoples, fauna, and culture are the source of her inspiration. Lauren lives in New York and loves bringing stories to life with colorful and playful visuals.
