Description

Does the world really need a book that explains how city girls can become cowgirls, no matter where they live?

With the popularity of all things Western, the answer is yes! A girl doesn’t have to live on a ranch to still dream of the romance, spirit, and fun of the Western lifestyle. To quote Papa Jack Weil of Rockmount Ranch Wear in Denver, Colorado, one of the finest Western clothing brands in modern history, “The West is not a place; it’s a state of mind.”

This book will help you discover all you need to know about riding for the brand, whether it’s learning the lingo, dressing the part, or cultivating your own sense of Western style. Before long, you’ll be enjoying a night of two-steppin’ or a Western meal with all the fixin’s on the trail. Above all, the “cowgirl way” is about embracing your best self and expecting nothing less from anyone and everyone you meet.

“Clever and colorful, How To Be An Urban Cowgirl & Find Your Inner West makes a charming gift for the adventurous woman who is cowgirl curious and ready to ride the range. Saddle up and discover the style, the attitude, and unlimited vistas in unleashing your own true inner West.” —ELLEN BYERRUM, author of The Crime of Fashion Mysteries

“A lively little guide that brings the West right to your doorstep and a joyful ride from cover to cover. It’s fun, friendly, and impossible not to smile.” —ROWDY OLSON, partner and marketing manager at Western Trading Post

About the Author:

Corinne Joy Brown is a Colorado native who has loved the rural Western way of life even though she lives in Denver. She’s an award-winning writer about the American West and a journalist who served for 20 years on the staff of Persimmon Hill, the magazine of the National Cowboy and Western Heritage Museum in Oklahoma. She has written for True West Magazine, Working Ranch, Cowboys & Indians, Western & English Today, Colorado Life, and Western Art & Architecture. Her last horse, Shamir, passed away, but she still identifies as a cowgirl and always will. Corinne has come to know the ranchers who put beef on our tables and has ridden horses across Colorado trails and dude tranches throughout the West. She’s covered Western fashion from the range to the runaway and loves Western-themed movies and music as much as anyone. She knows that thousands like to put their daily life aside and be a cowboy or cowgirl even for a short while, to feel that sense of independence and comradeship that comes with the territory and a good pair of cowboy boots.
