About the Author: Dr. Saul L. Miller is one of North America’s leading sport and performance psychologists. He is the author of nine books including: Performing Under Pressure, Why Teams Win, Hockey Tough: A Winning Mental Game, Winning Golf: the Mental Game, and Sport Psychology for Cyclists which he wrote with Peggy Maass Labiuk in 1999. Dr. Miller consults with sport, corporations, and health organizations across North America and Europe. He has worked with the NY Mets, LA Dodgers, Rams, Clippers and Kings, Seattle Mariners, Florida Panthers, Vancouver Canucks, Nashville Predators, plus numerous European pro teams, PGA Tour golfers, and Olympians and national athletes from the US, Canada, Russia, Switzerland, Slovakia, and Italy in over 25 different sports. Dr. Miller has been consulting with elite cyclists from Canada and the US for over four decades. A graduate of McGill University and the Institute of Psychiatry, University of London (Ph.D. Clinical Psychology), his work reflects his study of Eastern disciplines, Western psychological thinking, and over 35 years of front-line experience consulting with the world’s top performers.
About the Author: Peggy Maass Labiuk is a former US National Team Road and Track Racer, who excelled by being tough, smart, and psyched. She shares her cycling acumen as a World Championships medalist (Individual Pursuit), 2x National Champion (Criterium, Kilometer), and World Record Holder (24 Hour Endurance Record, 490.5 miles, human paced) in anecdotes and coaching notables. Her success in such a broad range of events (track, road, US Olympic and World Championships Teams) and having coached from club to elite levels (British National Women’s Endurance Squad) led to the practical execution of the sport psychology plan presented in Cycle Psyched. While Labiuk now rarely competes, she coaches, trains on the velodrome, and still scores some Strava segment QOMs.
